Vinesh Raj Maurya Rajbhandari

Writer | Director

Vinesh Raj Maurya Rajbhandari is a Nepalese filmmaker whose work explores the emotional complexities of ordinary lives through intimate, character-driven storytelling. His films are rooted in observation, authenticity, and a deep curiosity about the quiet moments that define the human experience.

He studied filmmaking and screenwriting in Nepal, India, and the United Kingdom, earning a Master's degree in Writing for Script & Screen from Falmouth University. His diverse academic and creative background has shaped a filmmaking approach that combines disciplined storytelling with a strong sense of place and emotional realism.

As both a writer and director, Vinesh is drawn to stories that emerge from everyday life—stories that reveal extraordinary emotional depth through seemingly ordinary moments. His work is influenced by realism, restrained visual language, and character-driven narratives that invite audiences to reflect rather than simply observe.

Bus No. 77 marks his debut feature film and reflects his continuing interest in exploring empathy, loneliness, ageing, and human connection within the changing social landscape of contemporary Nepal.
